1 - BUILDING QUALITY PUBLIC SERVICES

As Minister for Health, I want to see a world class health service for all the people of Northern Ireland.  I will also fight to ensure the retention of our excellent education system in Northern Ireland.

2 - STRONGER, SAFER, FAIRER COMMUNITIES

I am committed to building a stronger, safer and fairer community, where our children can flourish, families prosper and the elderly can live securely, free from fear.  I will fight for increased investment in our neighbourhoods and more resources for social issues.

3 - PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

I want to see a clean and healthy environment where the quality of our air, land and water are safe and in which we can all take pride.  I will continue to lobby for a more robust planning procedure thus ensuring that our natural environment is protected from inappropriate developments.

4 - A SOUTH BELFAST FOR EVERYONE

South Belfast has a unique cultural, religious and political identity.  As a devolved Minister, I want to see progress on real issues such as health, education and housing so that South Belfast can be enjoyed by everyone.

5 - STANDING UP FOR NORTHERN IRELAND

The Ulster Unionist Party has successfully ensured that Northern Ireland’s place within the United Kingdom is safe and secure.  Devolution has brought a new found confidence to our people and through the Executive I will continue to ensure that Northern Ireland’s position is articulated and represented within the Government of the United Kingdom.
